    • Metric Conversions
    • Adding & Subtracting Fractions - finding a common denominator
      • LCM Method - ie. to find 1/4 + 5/6 you would need to find a common multiple for the denominator then adjust the numerator. The LCM is 12 in this case but a denominator of 24 works too, or any other common multiple.
        • 1/4 + 5/6 = (1/4 x 3/3) + (5/6 x 2/2) = 3/12 + 10/12 = 13/12 or 1 1/12
      • Double Number Line Method

    • Order of Operations
      • Using Parentheses to Make Groups
    • Continuing Unit 2 - Adding & Subtracting Fractions
      • Using Money & Clock Models & Deciding when it's best to use which model
        • ie. It is easiest to use a CLOCK model when the denominators of the fractions are factors of 12 (can do any factor of 60 as well but that is more difficult)
          • ex: 1/2 + 1/3 = 6/12 + 4/12 = 10/12 = 5/6 (money wouldn't work because 3 isn't a factor of 100)
        • ie. It is easiest to use a MONEY model when the denominators of the fractions are factors of 100
          • ex: 1/2 + 1/10 = 50/100 + 10/100 = 60/100 = 6/10 = 3/5 (you could use a clock but it would be harder because you would be dealing with parts of 60 instead of parts of 12)
        • ie. Sometimes both models work!
          • ex: 1/2 + 1/4 = 6/12 + 3/12 = 9/12 = 3/4 OR 1/2 + 1/4 = 50/100 + 25/100 = 75/100 = 3/4
